People usually consider walking on water or in thin
air a miracle.  But I think the real miracle is not to walk
either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth.
Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we
don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green
leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own
two eyes. All is a miracle.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Healing Our world: a journey from the darkness into the light...challenges the reader to question just about every assumption
they have about how the Earth works and what our impact is on it. Throughout the book are examples of how our disconnection
from the natural world and from the rhythms of the Earth have created a distance between humans and the planet of their birth.
Because of that distance, we don't think twice about our damaging and destructive consumption that is rapidly reducing the
planet's life support capacity. Activists everywhere are heeding the call to action, hearing, as Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hahn
says, "the sound of the Earth crying."
The Weston A. Price Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of nutrition
pioneer Dr. Weston Price, whose studies of isolated nonindustrialized peoples established the parameters of human health and
determined the optimum characteristics of human diets. Dr. Price's research demonstrated that humans achieve perfect
physical form and perfect health generation after generation only when they consume nutrient-dense whole foods and the vital
fat-soluble activators found exclusively in animal fats.
Seventh Generation is the nation's leading brand of non-toxic and environmentally safe household products. With distribution
in thousands of natural product and grocery stores nationwide, we've become the authority when it comes to products that
protect your health and the planet. We've also won over 15 major awards that recognize our efforts to preserve the
environment.

We derive our name from the Iroquois belief that "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on
the next seven generations." Every time you use a Seventh Generation product you are making a difference by saving natural
resources, reducing pollution, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment and making the world a safer place for this and
the next seven generations.

Healing the Land, a non-profit organization led by Directors Tony and Deborah Laidig, is engaged in a vision to build bridges of
relationship and dialog between the Majority culture and the Native American people as a foundation for reconciliation. Their
strategy for accomplishing this vision involves three areas of focused outreach:  publishing, teaching, cultural presentations.
What is Bioneers?

The Collective Heritage Institute, aka Bioneers, was founded in 1990, when Kenny Ausubel and Nina Simons assembled
Bioneers for the first annual Bioneers conference, a gathering of scientific and social innovators who have demonstrated
visionary and practical models for restoring the Earth and communities.
The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,109 groups with 3,821,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely
nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping
good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To
sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search
box. Have fun!
